Do you know about Poll Everywhere?

At one of the trainings I attended the other day, the presenters used www.polleverywhere.com to survey the educators in the room about the subject material. I thought about what a great tool this could be to get some quick feedback about the students (and their knowledge) in your class. You could easily use it as a beginning-of-the-year get to know you activity!
It is EASY and FREE to subscribe to if you are an educator! All you have to do is type in a question and it will generate a texting code. Then, students text their answers (using the code) & the responses immediately show up in a colorful graph. Ms. Mecham's website lists a bunch of  ideas/questions you can use with your class so take a moment to check it out!...ENJOY!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Soooo I spent most of this summer attending trainings, getting ideas from Pinterest, and purchasing all of the goodies I thought I'd need for my 3rd grade classroom THEN the Instructional Coordinator position from my school became available. I have to say that I was VERY conflicted as to whether or not I should put my name in the hat. I've already met with my 3rd grade team a number of times this summer and they have TRULY impressed me with their excitement & expertise! We have so many great ideas stewing that I couldn't see myself doing a 180 and going back into administration. I sat down with my entire family and we had a heart-to-heart. Inevitably my goal is to be the very best I can be in whatever position I am in. I want to make a positive difference in my community with parents, students, and staff. I also know that I THRIVE on challenging myself.
After a lot of consideration, I decided to throw my name into the hat. I knew that if I didn't, I would always wonder "what if" had I not taken the chance and put myself out there. Well, I interviewed and got the job!!!! I am incredibly excited about this new journey AND best of all...I still get to plan with my 3rd grade team!!! YEAH! Now I just have to figure out what to do with all of the stuff I have in my garage!
With all of this in mind, I can't wait to share all of the wonderful lessons, ideas, & organization in my new position as Instructional Coordinator!
