Animal Kingdom/Animal Families Flip Booklet

Click on the collage to download!
This exciting flipbook will help your students learn to take notes while researching the animal kingdom! With an individual tab for each animal family, room to write interesting facts and an area to draw and/or cut/paste pictures of examples of animals that fall under that classification.
This flipbook also contains a tab where students can write questions they still have about the animal kingdom and/or their research, as well as a glossary for important words. In the glossary, students will record important vocabulary they have learned and provide a definition.
There is a page of labeled photographs that students can cut/paste onto each section based on their classification.
Finally, there is a word find on the last tab that contains the names of many animals they have already seen and some that will challenge students to figure out which animal kingdom they belong to….what a great way for students to continue learning. *An answer key has been provided!
All-in-all, this is a simple, yet effective tool for you to use with your students.

"OW" Word Sort, Poem & Word Study Activity

This week, we have been studying "ow" words. We began with a cute poem by Cherry Carl which I found online at http://www.wordway.us.com/FamilySets/LongOwSET.pdf.
We then went on to use the Making and Writing Words (I really like that book!) example found at http://www.timrasinski.com/presentations/IRA07Tim_Rasinski_2.pdf.
Finally, I made a simple word sort so that we could sort them in different ways. The examples are shown below :)
Hope these are helpful to you!
