Reading Response (Fiction) Fold & Flip Booklet

They will identify the main character (I'd also have the student describe the MC), the problem, resolution, favorite part (have them explain why it is their favorite) & a connection they made to the text.

Reading Response-"Things that are Most in the World" Booklet


This download contains a reading response booklet to the book, “Things that are the Most in the World” by Judi Barrett. Students will have the opportunity to review nouns, verbs & adjectives, as well as learn about superlatives! This booklet includes:

·         Students will identify the part of speech for a list of words.

·         Students will be given an adjective and must write the superlative for that word.

·         Students will generate a list of A-Z adjectives that they will later use to create their own “Things that are the Most in the World” page for a class book.

·         Students will create a page of their own that follows the same pattern from their book using one of the adjectives generated from the A-Z list.

Real-World Mathematics-Placing a Book Order

This download will provide students with a step-by-step look at the parts of a book order (number, title, reading level, blurb, etc.) and how to fill out the order form. Students will practice reading, adding numbers with decimal points and following directions. Once you have taught a mini-lesson on this, you could easily place order forms in your math workstation and have them do this independently. Student really enjoy it and I hope you do too!
