This download contains a word study SMART BOARD lesson that corresponds to the Systematic Sequential Phonics (Prefixes & Suffixes) book by Patricia Cunningham. This lesson provides students with the opportunity to manipulate letters and create words. They will then sort the words they have made and then apply what they have learned.

I explain to students that the letters they see can make MANY words, but they also form ONE BIG “Mystery Word.” This particular lesson targets the suffix “ING” and forms the word WATCHING.
